We all have heard of the arm chopping stories but cmon, this doesn't happen all too often.

In my eyes simply owning ANY rolex with no insurance policy is fairly negligent and irresponsible no matter how well off a person may be. I would advise that your friend chooses a good insurance company in the future, in order to avoid these types of catastrophes. It is a small world. I hope that you find the crook who did this to your bud. Keep us updated.

Yes I agree that this is a despicable crime and I hope the girl and everyone involved gets their due punishment.

A thread like this will, however, will serve as a salutary reminder to the young and randy to exercise either some control or common sense.

No one is going to stop a man inviting a girl back to his room but the comments made here may hopefully, albeit painfully, ram home the message that if you indulge in this sort of thing, either wear the Rolex all of the time, hide it or better still, don't wear it whilst out on the prowl.

Also if the poor chap is married, he will by now have a rather annoyed wife on his hands, so that is another headache for him.

If this thread prevents one more similar incident, then due credit to all concerned in publicising it.

I'm speculating, but I would think that someone who can afford a Sky Dweller would be old enough to possess the judgement that maturity brings and not indulge in the behaviors of teenagers. This is very high risk and destructive behavior. A mature adult shouldn't need to lose a $50K watch to learn this lesson.

I'm glad the chap was not assaulted by the woman, and hope he gets his watch back. But the takeaway for the rest of us is to avoid these high risk encounters.
