A nice little trip

Recently, Underwood's Jewelers San Marco store in Jacksonville, FL had a Rolex Event. There was a Rolex rep there and one of Underwood's watchmakers. They were featuring the new 3255 movement and had a few more watches on hand than they usually carry.

Since it's a two hour drive one way and I was fortunate enough to get off early, my wife and I left about 2:30 PM. We were there earlier than the event started at 5:30 PM. However, the watchmaker was there all afternoon and we were able to spend about 45 minutes just talking with him. He was very approachable and knowledgable and we had a great time talking not just about watches but his training and sharing life experiences. He enjoys his career tremendously. I like having a guy like that tinker with my watch when the time comes.

I started not to go because of the drive but glad I did. I now have a personal connection with one of the watchmakers at my AD's and I'm glad for that. Plus, I got to spend some time with my wife looking at gorgeous watches and jewelry and eating some interesting hors d'oeuvres!

All in all a great little trip!

Sorry about the lack of watch pictures.
