AR shows many sins. Now this is AR inside and out so I don't know if only AR on the inside would be better, but I doubt it. I'm always using the micro fiber cloth on my Breitling. No, I like the crystals the way they are W/O AR

No AR for me. Inside AR does not really reduce glare much and the tint alters the true colors of the dial.

Not a fan of AR. I have no problems with my 216570 Polar.

Internal Yes
External No I have a watch with an internal AR costing and it is easier to read. Isn't that the purpose of a watch after all? If they take the time to mask off the inside part of the cyclops and AR coat it, it is probably cheaper to just coat the entire inside. They are acknowledging that it makes the date easier to read that way, but think that glare is a design feature. I'd rather not have that, but I don't want it on the outside because it scratches easily. |

Internal AR coating would be a nice enhancement.

Go back to acrylic!
But seriously, internal AR would knock down some of that glare. My Sinn has double ar and there is no tint to it, I think they've got some new formulas these days. I'm sure rolex could make a clear AR. If they can make two-tone ceramic, they can make colorless AR

Not for me. I happen to like the sapphire as it is. And 99.999% of times I can read the time just fine.

That said whatever Rolex does with their modern crystal process is amazing. I've been eyeing (more like drooling over) one of sub, seadweller, or Daytona and face/dials are extremely bright indoors with almost zero glare from crystal. |

I prefer no AR on Rolex watches. It reflects and refracts the light nicely and gives the crystal a "jewelled" effect under certain lightning which I like.

In my opinion, AR on the underside of the crystal would be one step closer to perfection.

I would prefer they just get the cyclops magnification sorted out. Was at the AD over the weekend and the magnification was all over the place. Two same model watches had drastically different magnification.

I've got multiple watches with worn ARC; prefer not to have it. One's my SuperOcean which had minor nonuniformity. If anyone thinks some of the issues with the cyclops returns are frivolous can you imagine the returns for AR coatings wear? |

Cant scratch what isn't there! if there are to do it keep it on the inside so my watches are as tough as they can be.
I've gone right off Omega's that I have owned once the AR coating becomes damaged - looks awful

I don't mind it without the AR coating...

Light coloured dials tend to not need AR as much as dark. I prefer watches with AR applied to the inside, if it's done well the crystal basically disappears.
Not a Rolex (obviously), but this one has really well done AR:

I agree with this. In fact, Rolex could just forgo a new model or upgraded model this year and just fix the mag issue and I'd be sufficiently impressed.

Underside AR coating won't smudge. It's coatings on the top that do. And good coatings won't significantly change the reflection color. All it'll do is show the dial better.

I think this is one of the updates coming in the future. Just like domed crystals. I'm certain the Daytona will have a domed crystal in the future.

Precisely what I don't like about it, the jeweled appearance. But then I am very anti-bling and dislike most modern references for that very reason. You'd think a couple of guys from Toronto could agree eh? :)
