Yes the Daytona has a ton of hype as of today, but for day in/day out use, the GMT-Master II is still the king. I also work in a hospital and find my BLNR on my wrist moreso than any other watch I own. My Explorer II is now my weekend watch as my weekends are a little more casual.

As far as the Explorer, don't let anyone talk you out of it. While it might be the most plain of the three you mentioned, it is also the most classic. Guys who wear Explorers (in any reference number) know what they are doing. I owned one for a bit and had to let it go to free up some cash. It's a beautiful reference and Rolex made some great changes to the overall look. At first, the Daytona and the BLNR might overshadow the Explorer but as you get used to owning these three wonderful pieces you might find that the versatile nature of the Explorer makes it an easy choice for any situation.
This. Well said. I admire my BLNR each day since I got it 6 months ago. Sold my SS 116520.

Already paid deposit for new SS Daytona-C white dial and can't wait.

BLRO now while the price is where it is.
I think it will be at least 9 months before you can buy the EXP for less than the list price.
Ceramic 116500 will sell for list price if you can find one.

Are you referring to the Daytona and Explorer 1?
I think you're dreaming if you think you will land that (Daytona)watch for under MSRP.
Your avatar made me forget what i was gonna say...

Josh, I like this the best...you will never understand the pleasure of owning a full PM until its on your wrist...I recently added my first, 116619, and it is incredible how it feels. The white gold how it changes colors in different lighting was not something I was expecting. It truly is mesmerizing. Get the BLRO as you have been scratching your head about this for a long time, in fact you sold off everything to get to this point. Then adding a SS daytona later or another SS is a great plan. I think, even if you get the BLNR and Daytona and Explorer, you will still be thinking of the BLRO or PM piece...then you are selling all three again to fund the BLRO. Pull the trigger, you will never be happier, you can always delegate funds for the SS later.

If the BLRO is truly your Grail, that's what I'd buy. Is it your Grail?

Sounds to me like you're a bit indecisive. Now that you're doing a total redo of your collection, think things through and take your time.

I have tried on the GMT several times and I find it comfy but a more extensive trial might be a good idea before going PM. Lets be honest, the BLRO isn't flying off the shelves - it' s not going anywere. Maybe this helps you with your decision also.
Sure thing. I'm going to talk to the AD later today to try to get a realistic time frame on the Daytona. I know I'm not first and honestly wouldn't expect to be. I may end up getting my PM piece first because of timing and because I'm sure it will help that Daytona with my name on it show up quicker!

At any rate, I think you and I will end up in the same place at the end of the day, except that you will have the BLRO and the ceramic SS Daytona, and I'll have the white gold sub and the ceramic SS Daytona. How many watches come and go before that time remains to be seen!
