For sale is a black Tudor Submariner 94010. The serial number of 888911 dates it to 1978. This watch is part of the short run of 94010’s from the late 1970s to feature a dial that is reminiscent of the Rolex Submariner, and which have been termed the “Black Bay Ancestor.” The hands on these watches are snowflake hands, but this one currently has luminova Mercedes-style hands supplied by Rolex. The ETA 2776 movement is the rare 25-jewels version, rather than the more common 17-jewel version. The bracelet is a Tudor 78500. I had the watch authenticated by Rolex in NYC (they provided a document showing they serviced it in 1999). Last serviced by a Rolex AD watchmaker in 2013.
