Don't forget to put your watches forward +1 hour BST (at 1am tomorrow).

Obviously this applies to anyone who lives in the UK.

Maybe a silly question but do you guys with GMT watches (that set the GMT hand to Greenwich Mean Time) who live outside UK also forward the GMT hand an hour too?

Confusion ensues...

Nah. I set my GMT hand to my local time. I used to study in the UK. Not now.

My GMT Time is set to East Coast USA. GMT is cool but NY DC Boston etc, time is more important for me to know. If I'm on the East Coast then gmt hand get's set to CA time.

GMT does not change, its not related to time in britain (which will be GMT+1) so there would be no reason to change it

Correct me if I'm wrong but GMT doesn't observe daylight savings time. You are technically in BST time which does observe daylight savings time. So you only pair up with GMT for a portion of the year.

Thanks and yes correct.

So I guess if you're outside the UK then you wouldn't change your GMT hand (again assuming you have it set to GMT time).

More confusion... If you live in the UK it seems confusing to keep the hand in GMT time but instead set it to BST time and when you travel just change the hour hand to local time when you are located. That way you know your 'home time' and if you need to have a third time zone just use the bezel accordingly (but remember it's GMT+1 so lose one hour on the bezel).

Another confusion... At the moment my GMT hand is set to India's time (as I do business there), however they are +5.5 GMT and there is no half hour setting on a GMT watch so it's always 30 mins adrift. Tomorrow it will still be 30 mins adrift but in the opposite direction (so +4.5 GMT)

Jaysus! I am too hungover for this right now, where's my Sub!! 😄
