Never worn Rolex discontinued watches - What to do?

Okay, so I've picked up a Rolex 16610lv f serial watch, which is now discontinued. The kicker here is, its never been worn, with most stickers still on, full set.

As I typically only keep what I wear, would I be destroying value by taking the stickers off and wearing it?

I'm not really a "put away in safe" type of guy.

How much value am I tossing away, by taking off the stickers?

Your thoughts please.

J.

Considering it's a NOS LV others may disagree, but I say peel 'em off and wear the hell out of that sucker!

Oh, and post pics.

I would say peeling the stickers off will cost you around $1500

Every watch you buy new is devalued the moment you wear it....this is really no different than a current model. If you purchased it to where it, then that's what you should do.

so here's what you do...place a small piece of plastic wrap between the green sticker & your wrist...wear/enjoy the watch & then unload it later if so inclined. just be careful to avoid any scratches and/or nicks.

believe it or not, I've known a few people (primarily women) who have placed clear tape beneath a pair of expensive shoes, worn them for one occasion & then return the shoes for a store credit or refund.

despicable practice but if women can do it with a pair of stupid shoes, you ought to be able to temporarily enjoy that watch barring any mishaps.

Or even more. I'd be thinking that the stickers are more than 80% of the value. Pull them and your assuming a huge financial risk.

If it is a mrk 1 you could be out a lot. I'd keep it and let it be. In 30 years you'd be smiling hard.

I've been dealing with the same issue. NOS Zenith Daytona. If you feel like being a true collector keep it wrapped up in the safe, if you're a user you know what you have to do! ;)

Either way congrats on a fantastic watch!

Peel the stickers, put the watch away in the safe, and wear the stickers, yes, they are that valuable!

This is a mkI! Flat 4, 5 tick, oval and olive green bezel. How you score that?!
My gosh.Keep it untouched.

Buy another Kermit and wear that one instead.
