WTS - Vintage (c.1969) Zenith Chronograph El Primero Automatic
Hello. I am reluctantly selling my vintage Zenith Chronograph El Primero Automatic. I state circa 1969 due to the very low serial number on the exterior of the back of the watch: 904-D009. I traced it as far as I could and found it to be one of the earlier made.
It is all original, except for the band. And I will state up front it does not run at this time. And the center crown is off the stem (but I have the original crown as you will see in the pictures). This was not always the case. I sent it out for a repair estimate, and it was returned to me with the crown off the stem, to my horror and anger. And I will tell you up front as well, I was told the repair costs (by Zenith in Texas) would be $2,000. That is why I am selling the watch. I inherited it, and as much as I would love to repair it and have it displayed next to my 1971 Rolex Explorer II model 1655 that I also inherited, I cannot afford to repair it and keep it. I want it to go to a good home, to someone who will repair it and treasure it for what it is:one of the original Zenith El Primeros. I am asking $4,500 for this watch. |
