Deepsea for Daytona?

OK again looking for advice... i love my deepsea but i never wear it between my sub and my newly acquired Panerai they take up all my wrist time .

I really hate having watches sit there so id rather change it for something ill make time to wear.(besides if i get a DSSD again it'll be a deep blue)

Now ive been offered a 116520 Daytona as a trade (SS black dial or a SS white dial)
now my dilemma.. both are older models (thin hands) with no paperwork, they are 100% genuine but is it worth a trade?
I dont really have a dressy watch and i think the daytona will fill that gap....

its really hard to date them without paperwork but he said one is a Y series and the other is a Z.....

my "Rolex passion" is telling me yes but my "common sense" is telling me no

Advice? Opinions?

I'm not sure the Daytona is a dressy watch, but ymmv. The y was directly before the z, but there are a few models of z as well.

Retail on a nice one without a box and papers is what? $8k? What's the dssd worth second hand?

from what i can see they are about the same second hand again not knowing the exact year models of them they may be worth less....

when i say dress watch its "dressier" then a deepsea and fits under a business shirt better then my Panerai and my sub 114060 is my daily tool watch

116520 not dressy to me. Not paper bothers me. Z is fine. Depends on the conditions of the Daytonas I guess.

Deepsea for Daytona?

I'd suggest selling the DSSD first, then finding a complete Daytona set from a single owner who has never reported it stolen. (you can read an allegorical tale in WatchOut!!! Section about stolen watches)

Even in a trade you could be getting a watch with a tainted history if it has no papers nor a history that's bond fide.

Not a good trade...

Your DSSD is worth over 8k preowned. Just sell it and buy a box papers watch from a reputable dealer...hopefully with recent RSC service (including paperwork) that he paid for.
