My first Rolex
So, after a bit of mucking about with several other brands, I've ended up with a Rolex Explorer II 216570. There are a number of reasons for this, but ultimately it boils down to the fact that I was attracted to the combination of features, finishing, and style of the watch. That said, I think I may have ended up purchasing the least rolex-y Rolex available in the current line-up. For example, the watch has few polished bits (only the sides of the links on the bracelet are polished) which is unusual compared to nearly every other watch in the current line; it is larger that nearly all other popular Rolexes at 42mm (I think only the DSSD and YM are larger); it has a matte white dial (I believe this is unique amongst the current line as I believe the Daytona does not have a matte dial, but I could be wrong about this), etc. Nevertheless, I am a happy puppy!
Here's a snap from yesterday. Cheers all! |

Have a look at the rubber straps thread that's active at the moment. The polar dial Exp II looks amazing on orange rubber.
