My AD has my name 'high up' his list and still states 18-24 month wait. He's getting only one '500' this year. Apparently Rolex are planning to restrict supply even further??
Looking forward to two price increases before I get mine. |

The official "waiting list" of an AD might be 1-2 years but I was answering more to when a TRFer would get one and that would be for most under 1 year, some thru an AD, some thru resellers.

My AD's in town are bad, they still have a "list" for the deep blue and the BLNR so not even dreaming of getting a C Daytona from them in 10 years.

Creating a huge demand and limited supply is the best they can do if the are easy to get the watch looses a lot of it's appeal I believe Rolex is the only brand I can think of that does not make limited editions. All others 'use' limited editions to create artificial demand Rolex doesn't need this marketing BS But I'm sure it's better to have 5 year waiting lists then seeing them in the AD window

Lists are more indicative of the AD's demographics (the models that their nearby prospect/customer base desires) vs. that AD's power in the distribution chain. For example, the best find inventory by establishing relationships with faraway ADs who have inventory on the shelf that is "in demand" locally.
So a 1-2 year wait list for most models is best fixed by switching your acquisition strategy to a different AD, or to one of the TRF trusted sellers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'll have to call my AD but if it sounds more like 24 months I'll likely cave and buy from david or thanh before then.

If the AD,s don,t get any in for a while, why would you think that some trusted sellers on her will have them? Is it not the case that the trusted sellers only get their stock from AD,s that cannot shift them, only asking this as I don,t know.

New daytona 116500ln waitinglist

Past performance of some TRF sellers is how we base that expectation. Of course, past performance isn't a guarantee of the future - but that's what I've seen over past several years. How do they get them? That's their closest guarded secret

Looks like I'm gonna camp outside the Rolex AD, like they do at the Apple Store before a big release, only no one knows when the stocks actually comes in. Better get a tent and some supplies

Went to Londen Jew and one other Rolex AD yesterday and was told they are no longer accept waiting list. The watch is for their VIP customer only and won't even hit the show room floor....

My AD is a small AD and just received their first one. Of course it is sold and they have a small list. As far as I know they did not take "pre-orders". No idea how many they will get but suffice to say the list is longer than their first year expectations. I am not on the list. May pick up an old one when someone flips to buy a new one.

I really don't think Daytona-C will be as hard to get as the SS version in the first few years because it does not serve Rolex well. They would be leaving money on the table and not ideal in the current softer luxury goods market.

16520 was only difficult to get because rolex outsourced the movement.

There was a post on reddit this week on the watches forum, a guy said he was about the first in the US to have one and posted pics of his new ceramic Daytona. It was quite beautiful if the post is in fact real. Has anyone seen this post?
