First PM Watch: YM Everrose or AL&S 1815 or PP5196

First precious metal watch, currently have SS 165200 Daytona, and Brietling World Navitimer on croco leather.

Love the YM and how it shines in person, but also love the simple elegance of the AL&S and PP... I think I prefer Rolex and AL&S over PP....

IMO the Rolex is the odd man out here. It's a terrific looking watch but not an appropriate comparison to the 5196 and 1815.

Between the remaining two I'd take the Lange without hesitation. Design and execution make it the superior watch in virtually every respect. My opinion of course.

True they serve different purposes for sure. I will say I dress casual more than in suits so was thinking the YM may be a better fit for my lifestyle, but I love the AL&S, it is just exquisite in person....

I had 1815 - didn't love it, I'd take YM of that group while yielding its sport and others aren't. Pp 5227?

I would either go Rolex or PP personally. There are a lot of details in the gold YM that I love like the matte dial..

The Lange is nice for a dress piece, the YM is more sporty and more my speed, but I suspect you are heading for a Datograph.

Really nice PP, looks great!

Love the DatoGraph but you just upped the $$$ I think just a little :)

Overall based on my use and the fact my White Daytona has a very dressy look if wanted, I think the YM may be the best bet...

YM from that group. I also second the PP 5227 or ALS Dato.

That 1815 is gorgeous and would be my pick. When I become a grown up and finally get a dress watch, it will likely be the ALS.

Out of the options, I would go ALS but since you said you dress more casual, I'd go YM. Can you take the YM off the oyster flex and put it on a different band? Has anyone done that?

Patek is really dress only, the ALS is dress to maybe more and the YM is more youthful for dress and casual. I'd prefer the YM and I've had many PPs, etc. The YM, to me, is more versatile and youthful versus something more, well, for older gen watch. Now if this is strictly for tux or finer suit, the ALS would be a good choice. PP like that is really becoming only for tux in the classic sense.

I am under 40, and not too dressy so the YM has a lot of appeal. I can always add a more dress watch to the collection later. I also need a 14060 :), and maybe a BLNR... oh boy, I like the kermit too... jeez this is bad

As long as you are going gold, why not go all the way to a DayDate?

Oh, YM by far. Do you actually have any need for a dress watch? I'd get so bored of a calatrava or simple Lange.

From that group, I would say the yachtmaster.

They are very different watches though. The yachtmaster being very sporty!

I'd take a look at the ALS Datograph as others have mentioned.

Datograph is out of my league for now... of course I said nothing higher when I got my Daytona, but going to the Dato would require some more stars to align... So I think the YM wins... it looks amazing in person too ! I never feel pictures do it justice...

That's the move then man.

I'll be honest, if you were to add any of the others you listed, you would reconsider down the road when you started looking at the brand's other offerings.

That yachtmaster is special and will remain so in its own right.

That's just my opinion though considering the slippery slope we walk.

You'll be happy with the YM. It is a beauty in person.

Of the three, the YM. But between a dress watch and a sports watch, I'll choose the sport watch.

YM as a sports watch. The others pretty boring. I sold my 116655 as my aquanaut was getting more wristime. i wish I had more arms as I would have kept it
