Cape cod cloths
Where can I buy one of these? Do they sell them at walmart? I don't wanna wait for shipping. I scrapped my GMT on the bottom of the pool and it left a nasty scratch that is driving my absolutely bonkers.

You can always get a light polishing at a watchmaker.

If it is a nasty scrape, Cape Cod wont help you.
These are best for swirlies / slight marks you cannot feel with your fingernail. |

Looks a lot like scratches accumulated over time...this is a one time "incident?"

I think you're gonna need something better than a cape cod on your watch.
Take it to a jeweler you trust for a polish. |

If it can be felt by your fingernail, a Cape Cod cloth isn't going to remove it. You will need some skilled help on this. If your GMT is ready for a service, then RSC is a good choice to return it to like new finish.
If you don't need a service, perhaps a jeweler or watchmaker who can keep the surrounding area properly blended. Otherwise you'll have a wavy uneven finish.

Bought them and it worked like a charm. Looks much better now! I didn't wanna do it too much. Just lightly

I would personally leave it alone. If you have it polished then you'll be right back where you started in a few months to a year and you'll be missing metal on your watch. I am strongly against polishing

I suspect that 'over-polishing' is what gets most folks in trouble (although I concur with others who have suggested having it 'lightly done' during RSC servicing).
knew a guy once who was a fanatic about waxing/polishing his car so he bought a HD air compressor & a professional autobody buffer...through his overzealousness, he eventually burned the paint off his MB right down to the bare metal. what an idiot. |

Yeah same here. Personally, I'd wait till service for a light polish.

Cape Cods are good for hairlines and that is about it. Unless you want to spin one up on a Dremel tool which takes some minor engineering.
I am like the others. Wait until you are ready for servicing and it will come back like new.
