Mid-term Rolex Goals. Need Help
I currently have Milgauss Z-Blue and a Speedmaster. Also on a list for the DaytonaC but it seems the wait will take some time (early 2017). I am planning on having 3 Rolex in my collection which DaytonaC would be a keeper. Besides the Daytona, I would like to have a GMT and a tool watch like a diver. My plan is to wait for 2017 releases and decide on the GMT front. I dont consider myself a flipper but if releases from 2017 Basel does not include a GMT, I may try to flip Milgauss for a BLNR. I just like the look of BLNR too much I guess.
Until that time, diver front keeps me busy. I was considering the Tudor Black Bay Black as a daily beater and found an ETA version from an AD for a very good price (2.6K$). This was a pre Submariner purchase plan for me but having second thoughts about Tudor. I can buy 114060 for 6.3K$ from an AD. If the final purchase would be a Sub, does it make sense to buy a Tudor and wait couple of years for the flip? If I dont fall for BBB of course. But the price difference between BBB and the Sub can compensate the flip through BLNR. Since I am a starter here, would very much appreciate some inputs. Does my flip process make sense? Do you guys see any other option for me? Prices are after VAT refunds. |

I have had a Subc and a BBN and I'd go for the Subc if I were you. Wait for a CokeC and if it doesn't come out then go for the BLNR, that will be a fine SS Rolex trio... before you move onto the PM trio.

Don't buy if the watches aren't going to be keepers. Save and purchase what you really want.

This👍 why buy a watch you know you want to flip. In the end you will be better off waiting and getting what you really want. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I'd skip straight to the 114060 & wouldn't mess around with the black bay. As Flipping, generally results in dissatisfaction as well as the loss of time & money. I don't know about you. But going through all that hassle, for a quick fix. Isn't something that I'd be interested in. As far as the gmt scenario goes. I'd flip the milgauss for the blnr & call it a day. There are to many variables (it may never be reintroduced, It could be a pm exclusive), IMO to justify waiting for the coke.

I would go ahead and buy the sub. The coke c may never come and if it does it will likely be 2018 or beyond by the time they are available.

I personally would not be selling my Z blue to fund a GMT/Sub/Daytona or anything else. Great watch! I would just hold tight, your Daytona will come in and it will be a great add.

Flipping cost me time and money, so I've learned to avoid it if possible.
So in your scenario, I would go straight for the Sub, bypassing the Tudor. But that's me! |

My problem with the Milgauss is the polished bezel. Other then that imo it is a great watch and I love it especially the second hand. However that bezel is just too blingy for my taste. I was not aware of this fact when I was buying it. After several months of ownership it just feels like too shiny. After this point where I have more experience with a Rolex watch I decided to have a less shiny one. Thats where BLNR comes in with ceramic bezel. I am planning on using BLNR with Sub's brushed bracelet and Sub on a NATO. And since Daytona would come with a ceramic bezel, it will be less shiny than a polished bezel. As for the Sub and BBB, I guess I was looking these 2 watches as almost same watches with different brands on them but with more reading and research it is clear that they are 2 very different ones. It is not a matter of choosing which one to have but which style to go with. And cheers to those who have them both. I guess I will start with Sub for the moment. Thanks for all the ideas and inputs. Much appreciated. |

I would save and buy what is in front of you.
I do not understand most of what you have written. Waiting for possible watches that might be released more than year from now or buying something just to buy never makes sense on any level. Good luck!
