Can anyone tell me if a Daytona model R 16518, gold with leather and gold band can later be mated to a gold or stainless & gold all-metal band? Thinking of purchasing a used one and the leather band is different and looks great, but not sure if later I'd want to to go back to the conventional metal band.

Hi,

Not ever seeing one in person,but reading somewhere.No! The end pieces of the strap model are fixed.

If this was the case I think a GOOD jeweller would be able to modify it buy cutting the end link out,sounds scary and it is only as a last resort.

I would buy a bracelet model now instead of a strap model if you think you favour the bracelets.

Aaron is right. It's best you decide now before it's too late. Once you go strap, you can't go bracelets. I'd rather stick with a bracelet.

I believe the lug holes are in the wrong place for the bracelet, even if you remove the end piece fitted (but not attached) to the case.
