Brian,
Both my wife and I owned Chronoswiss watches. They were excellent. The only thing about the Opus that is a negative for me is that I find it very difficult to read. I could be wrong, but my suspicion is that most skeleton watches would not hold their value well, only because they are for a particular buyer, and most of the major watchmaking houses don't make them. This Benzinger is one of my favorite skeletons, though it's above your price range at around $8800. I don't know if you could find one pre-owned, but perhaps. You might also find out what the street price is on the Perrelet Dual Time. That's a beautiful watch. Best of luck! Howard
