Open up a web based e-mail account like gmail, hotmail, yahoo and etc and use that address on the internet. Keep private ISP e-mail accounts restricted to family and close friends.

Our company works with Postini and it's scary to see how much e-mail they filter. Spammers suck.
Vu,

Very good advice there.............I agree.

Heh - I remember when folks would get mad at you for calling unsolicited mass-email SPAM. Oh well. Kind of like the misuse of hacker/cracker... everyone got tired of making the correction. In the old days, SPAM -only- referred to unsolicited mass Usenet postings.

Anyway, the corporate space has had this issue solved for years. Network-based anti-spam services like MessageLabs have been the gold standard for a long time since they save the transit capacity. The unwanted messages never traverse the link to the corp email server. MessageLabs is listed as the MX record for the zones they provide service to. They scrub the inbound mail and relay only the valid messages to the corp email server(s).
