Expert Opinions Needed: 1675 Gilt Dial
Hi Guys,
Before entering the auction i would like to ask for your opinion on whether the dial is correct for this 1675 which has a serial number of 1,089,XXX Lume I assume seems to have went through a very humid environment and has turned black, which im okay with as long as its been kept original and untouched Thank you in advance |

I'm no expert at all but if lume is radium, and it's probably the case as the marking at 6 o'clock seems to be SWISS, it may well become black even without being exposed to humidity.

Here is a link for comparison with a known fake 1675 gilt chapter ring dial http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53...mtid=824&kw=lg I hope this is helpful.

Here is another example in which the color is closer to yours - it is a 5512 though... http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53...mtid=824&kw=lg
I'm looking for this one piece I remember seeing in which it really seemed dark and I think the hands were completely devoid of lume... Hopefully I can find it. I'm looking in completed items. Still trying. |

Here we go... finally found what I was looking for I think... It is a 5508 and I think the lume looks very similar to yours. http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53...mtid=824&kw=lg
In case you don't know this, if you click on the pic of the watch in the upper left corner, it takes you to the original listing so you can see all the photos and zoom and everything. They do this on closed listings for some reason... make you take that extra step so they can market other currently listed products to you. |

Thanks guys. Assuming it's radium, would the darkness of the lume affect its desirability in case I were to sell it in the future? I haven't seen one that's as dark as this on a 1675

Hour and minute Hands are not correct for this watch. The hour is curved not flat and the minute is too short. The lume matches and that tells me somebody has tried to make it look correct. I highly doubt radium and would look more into this watch.. Who is the seller?
