Can I ask what is your wrist size? I have 6.9 flat wrists and wore pams for 2 years but each time I tried 47 it felt ridiculous, I wore 44's, I'm sorry to say but the IWC all look way too big on you IMO, they probably would on me too

No need to be sorry my friend. My wrist is about 6.5 I think and pretty flat. Here's my 587, which is a 47mm, on my wrist: To be clear, I'm not denying that it's a big watch. But who's making the rules? Don't get me wrong, I love classic watches and classical sized watches as much as the next WIS, but these are fun man. Here's my 42mm AP ROO: Thankfully the lug-overhang police hasn't caught up to me yet! :) These 2 watches are the main reason keeping me from pulling the trigger on one of the IWCs. I basically wanted something not as big. Suggestions welcome! Cheers |

Have you checked the For Sale section for IWC? some great deals lately, I have been tempted by the Top Gun Miramar Chronograph for a while. At 46 i do not think it works for me, they did however just downsize the newer offing to 44 which is the most i would personally go.

Why not the Spitfire? Ref 3878. I think it's 43mm and in-house.

Yeah, I'm interested in seeing the newer 44mm pilots. Haven't checked the FS section - I will 👍 |

This was my favorite from sihh. Pure pilot awesomeness, and a bargain.

Agreed... Others do too: http://www.hodinkee.com/articles/the...ion-of-an-icon OP, you should really not go beyond 40mm with your wrist size... |

Never updated this thread. I ended up going with Panerai. Got the 233. I posted in the Panerai forum. Here's a pic:
So much for wanting to get back into IWC! Cheers |

I always love and wanted the IWC Pilot but the case/lugs are too big for my wrist.

that's a plain & simple IWC that is somehow very refreshing to look at. minimalistic & simple!

I actually prefer to have my bracelets fitted a touch looser and as a result my watches also tend to end up being worn a bit lower down on the wrist. It's just a personal preference...

From IWC, I love the Doppelchrono and the 3777. I love the idea of the Big Pilot but I don't have the wrist size to pull it off.
If you like IWC, get one! Don't let anyone else try to sway you elsewhere. |

The IWC pilot chrono is the best looking, right size and least expensive too boot...

I'd go 44mm Pam or the 3777. The 3777 feels relatively low profile on the wrist due to its lack of a large bezel.. I feel like they don't have quite the wrist presence of Panerai, despite their larger size
