ebay yacht-master II

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rolex-Yachtm...4AAOSw-YVXmB4l

Seller information
mosbahchehab (265 )
100% Positive feedback

Hijacked account? No activity in the last year.

Doesn't this supposed Yacht-Master II have the wrong bezel?

Here is another one with that same style of bezel. http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53...mtid=824&kw=lg

What are you noticing on the bezel that seems to be off?

If it is truly a legit piece, that is a ballsy move to go no reserve. Ill be watching to see what it jumps up to.

If you have a shill standing by to drive up the price or to protect you at the last minute, it's not that ballsy. Of course, it's illegal and against ebay rules, but if you have a friend in another town or country that will make sure you don't lose, then that is an option some people choose. Or you could also choose to just not accept payment and tough it out when you receive the negative feedback that will be forthcoming.

Some shilling is designed the price up. Some shilling is designed to provide last minute protection, so basically the item didn't sell. And then there is the fake shill bidding that makes people think the seller is using a shill, so the potential bidders don't trust the seller, so the fake shill bidder can scoop up the watch at a nice healthy discount. It will be interesting to see what occurs with this watch.

Of course I am sure that there are some situations in which a seller truly needs money quickly for an important bill and will take whatever he can get out of an asset... he doesn't have time to wait for a fair price. Most of the time, those people end up at pawn shops or sell to places like Bob's watches, but sometimes they have a little bit of time and can wait for an ebay auction to run to fruition.

There is no risk in going up in small increments to $1,000 and even if it's not in the budget, that watch will go for much more than $1k. And the seller would be dumb to force someone to pay $1k for it. And if you did happen to win it for $1k and your budget was not able to handle that added expense, you would figure out how to come up with the money because there would be a huge return for you if you listed it and sat on it at a fair price.

Agreed
I can afford it, its a cool watch and if not a scam, then its worth a LOT more.
Hence my "foot in the water"

Auction was canceled and item was relisted. I placed a bid and was sent an email stating my bid was canceled and item relisted. Last time I checked the first listing the high bid was over $20,000.
