Sub c (no date) for less weight and being one of the most iconic watches. You can always get the SD later except if you need to dive 1220 m today.

I've had a 114060 and have a 116610 and 116613lb and as far as comfortable watches they are lovely... However I have a 16600 and love it! It get far more wrist time then with of my ceramic subs and I always feel like I'm wearing a "Rolex" when I've got it on. The ceramic subs just don't have that feel(hard to explain)
Don't get me wrong the new maxi case is the perfect size for my wrist and is comfortable and ticks every box but they don't have the soul of my 16600

Just my 2 cents... And at the current exchange rate I'll owe you money lol!

Apparently, the HP 12c, since I don't own a 16610.

Although some day, I'll have to decide which to add to my collection: a 16610 or a 14060.

114060. Classic Sub design and slim profile make it the one for me.

The 114060 weighs slightly more than the 16660, although the weight of the 114060 is probably better proportioned. I'd probably call a pre-ceramic SD more icnonic than a ceramic Sub, to be honest.

Well said sir, couldn't agree more, it's hard to describe how the 5 digits feel.

I faced this choice and went for the sd. The only correct answer is "get both eventually".

Late night typo...16600, there you go lol. The 12c Platinum probably goes better with the 114060

Again , Thanks gents for the input!
I stopped by Tourneau and no luck with finding a nice SD 5 digit
I dos however re try on the ceramics ....

So my dilemma is I want a watch that will be my companion for years to come , at least until I get my toddler girls into middle school :)
Maybe then I can add another high dollar watch to the collection!
I get what you mean about the 5 digit having a soul feeling:)

aside from the flimsy
clasp /bracelet :(

Dare I say the 6 digit ceramic did feel more robust , But ..... When the lady was showing it to me she made it seem as if it was a tennis bracelet , the way it " shiny" she said
Hmmm dunno
Maybe il get myself a Steinhart and quit my whining :) JK
Lol

Based on this comment, it seems pretty obvious that you should go for one of the modern references. The 16600 is a bit top heavy and with the old-style bracelets, is a bit more challenging to get the right fit. Part and parcel with the old bracelets is the frequent difficulty in centering the clasp.

If you like the heft of the 16600, why not go for the 116600?

If it boils down to the modern references of the Sub and SD, the question you have to ask yourself is: do I want a date (116600) or not (114060)?

Good luck with your decision.
