Does the 16610LV look Kosher?

Looking at buying this watch today and just wanted to see if this raised any red flags at all?

Not sure the bezel is correct, looks like a flat 4, however the flat 4 was only on the original LV, and that one appears to be newer with the rehaut engraving, but let others chime in.

Best pic is the last one (on wrist) looks ok to me in that. Far from an expert in bezels, but dial etc looks right for LV, to me.

Might not be fake, just a retrofit. One of the photos has a spare bezel sitting in a bag so maybe the owner went for the flat 4 look?

The close up shows that it isn't the flat 4. The only thing that really jumps out at me is the hang tag. If it was correct for a Kermit, it would be 16610LV. You have the hang tag for a regular sub. Does the warranty card have 16610LV? Others with a better trained eye than myself may be able to see something I'm missing.

Just looked at my Kermit. On a true 50th Anniversary, Swiss Made is sitting on top of 5 minute markers. 28-32. It also has an oval O in Rolex. The one in the picture is round. Not the correct bezel for the watch. Given that and the hang tag, I'd say it's a regular sub with a Kermit bezel.

Non oval with flat 4 bezel.
Does that exist per OEM?

He said he took the original bezel off for "safekeeping". It's pictured in one of the photos off the watch. Let me ask for a pic of original bezel

It looks like the actually watch is a regular LN (Due to the hang tag and bag with black bezel and extra links), but I question why it has the maxi dial then if it is an original LN and not original LV? Shouldn't it have the smaller nipple hour markers? Unless the previous owner sourced the LV Maxi Dial and bought an after market green bezel?

Yeah, it may be a real Rolex, but made up of a mixture of parts.

My hang tag reads "16610lv"
Have him take the bracelet off and that will show the real model.

Plenty of Red Flags here , that is what you asked.

Look at the simplest thing first - the hang tag , it's not right. If you're going to fake a hang tag what else are you faking??

I recall it being typical for LV to only read 16610 on some.
Ie I believe that detail is inconclusive.

Also a regular sub would not have the maxi dial nor maxi hand.

There were a lot of dial and bezel variations on the LV, but, as others have said, I'd ask to see the model designation and serial under the bracelet.

Agreed, mine has hangtag and Warranty Card clearly stating 16610LV, mine's July 2007 - Non Rehault.

the bezel above is supposedly the original. He did mention that the box/tag was not from this watch. also, what model number would be inscribed on the case under the bracelet? i didn't see anywhere online where they were inscribed with LV only 16610

That is the newer-style chrono tag too, so I am guessing the seller just purchased a box-set to make it more of a "complete package".

EDIT: Looks like you beat me to the puch regarding the box (didn't see your posts above before posting).

The original bezel looks legit, but I'd say whoever did the swap didn't know what they were doing.
It appears as though the finish is worn/gone along the edge (and near the 40 mark), as if someone tried to remove it from the front (instead of removing the bezel and pushing it out from the back).

The engraving between the lugs should read: 16610 T.

Ok and the black bezel 16610 will not have the "T"?

I agree cuz if u look at the thread 2 above this another LV the Swiss made is as you say. Maybe it's not LV but just a 16610 like on hang tag

What's the serial number ? It should be engraved in the inner ring(I think that's what's called) where it says Rolex Rolex ...

Not sure if it'd be engraved in the lugs also, as I have never taken the bracelet off mine. Also check for the LEC.

It appears too many "issues" we're not initially revealed by the seller, until you started asking more questions.

I'd pass.

If you compare it to the one in the thread above this, you can see a number of variances -- With the old dial that's off -- the 5 in the 50 looks messed up and the font in general looks thin.

I agree there's too much not right with this. So what, people are taking regular subs, putting green bezels on and passing them off as LV's so they can make a couple thousand bucks.... that's pretty dirty.

What's that if you look around and have to ask who the mark is, it's you. lol

I do see the differences in the "O" in Rolex and the "swiss made" as well, certainly not encouraging. the interesting part is that the guy is adamant about authenticity and he will meet at any dealer in LA. so I kinda wanna see what they say.
