Icon5 Exact minute hand question??

I am new to this forum and also as a Rolex owner. I recently purchased an SD and have a question. Why does the minute hand not point directly at the minute mark/hash mark when the seconds hand points directly at the 12? Should that both strike at the same time....exactly in the 12 and what ever minute it is? I might have posed this question in some non-watch type of nomenclature, but I hope I was able to get my pint across.
Thanks in advance for any replys....

Congrats on the SD! That is pretty common, but you can adjust it by stopping the second hand exactly at the 12:00 position and then setting the time.

Oh....now I get it. Rather rookie misteak here....never thought that one fully through. I will do this. I also have set my watch to the time.gov site and notice that it is a little on the fast side.
Thanks for the help

No problem, a little fast is OK IMO, it is easier to hack back to the correct time if you need to....and its always OK to be a little early!

There's a protocol that will help with this but be aware there's a little slack that will show the minute hand slightly off at different times around the dial.
1- stop the second hand at 12:00.
2- set the time by moving the minute hand past the correct time, then move it backwards to the correct time. You might see some swing back when doing this. But once you have the minute hand set exactly by moving backwards then just push the crown in to start the second hand by syncing up with a timing source.
Good luck,
dP

Just did all that was suggested. Seems to point to all the correct hash marks exactly as it should now. I will report back in the next few days as to whether it stays exact...hope so. It is a D series with no hash marks at the bottom below SWISS MADE...:)
