I get it, though admittedly I grew up during the original muscle car era. That's all anyone cared about (1/4 mi.). Cornering? What's that? LOL!

Seriously though, 0-60 still means something to many because it is an indicator of how much legalized fun the car might provide. You can't speed without risking a ticket, but there is no law against getting to the speed limit as quickly as possible, short of laying rubber and pulling wheelies. The sensation of acceleration is an attraction for many. That's one thing about the Tesla, instant max torque from dead stop has you thrown hard into the back of the seat. That's fun, imho.
