RSC Beverly Hills recovers stolen watch

I just saw this story on TMZ and wasn't too sure if it was already posted but wanted to share:

http://m.tmz.com/#article/2016/09/12...-stolen-rolex/

It's always nice to see this happen and hopefully the rest is soon recovered.

Nice to see a partial recovery. I am sure insurance has been paid out (providing there was a policy) but if it had sentimental value than that is fantastic.

Interesting. Always wondered a bit about the role of the RSC when they receive a stolen watch. They obviously play it by the book. I note that the cops need a search warrant to obtain the info about the person who sent the watch in for service. Wonder how long it takes for someone to actually get their watch back once it shows up and is flagged.

Don't know if they will ever find the perp, but assuming the person who sent it in is innocent, someone is going to be out a substantial sum.

A success story worth adding to a sticky titled, "Why Tell Rolex About Thefts"...
Good on the authorities and BH RSC!

I doubt the person that brought the watch in knows anything about it being stolen. Probably doesn't even realize it was. This could end up being a while goose chase as people tend to pay for things in cash, got them as "gifts" or whatnot. It just takes one person in the chain to say "someone I don't have the name/address/phone number of gave this to me" and it ends.

Of course..if the thief decided to bring it into RSC, they are probably shaking in their boots. I've heard of dumber things and wouldn't be surprised.
