FS: Rolex 1601 SS Datejust with White Buckley Dial circa 1970

Vintage Rolex 1601 stainless steel Datejust with white gold fluted bezel and a white dial with black roman numerals. This style dial is nicknamed the “Buckley” dial after collector John Buckley. Serial number 2599xxx is circa 1970 and the caseback is stamped “IV.70”. Movement is a 1570/5, non-hacking and non-quickset.

Condition:
Condition is “excellent”, approximately 88% per the TimeZone guidelines. Please note that two of the lume dots have flaked off the dial and also, the hands appear to have been relumed. Service history is unknown, but watch winds, sets and runs within COSC specs with decent amplitude. The crown/tube assembly is beginning to show wear and only turns about 1 1/2 full revolutions before releasing. Bracelet is a very nice 62510 jubilee (clasp code H4) with vintage “55” endlinks. There are 21 links present, which will fit a really large wrist.
