Thoughts on Explorer II 16570

Anyone who owns or has owned this watch.... What do you think about it? I am thinking about buying one... Black Dial.

I think it's a great looking watch, especially for the price they are selling for right now.

Had the white dial version. One of the most comfortable and durable watches around.

The 16570 is a watch that is discreet and does not scream ROLEX, it serves a useful purpose in the form of a GMT and the proportions are perfect.

I would opt for white but the black is also good.

Go for it.

Regards

Mick

Underrated and undervalued. I'd like a black one myself. Go for it.

I'm really thinking about pulling the trigger on it. I can get one at a steal of a price, unfortunately no box or papers, but a great watch and price!

I had a white dial, M serial with the 3186 movement. It was a great watch and wish I still had it.

Get it while it is still cheap. One of the best and most underrated Rolexes around.

The 16570 is the essential Rolex watch.
Comfortable, functional, stylish, versatile ( looks great with rubber or canvas straps ) and great value
Any collector should have at least one.

I have the white, love the watch. Very comfortable and the black/white dial contrast makes it my most legible watch.

Pre owned especially the 40mm great bang per buck. However, with a new 42mm EX2 at an AD costing more than a no date Submariner and not being far of a standard Master GMT or Submariner date price it is too expensive. That said, I tried one on at a UK AD and it has a refreshing look that sets it apart from the Submariner. Again all Rolex's are good, its a Rolex. It is very important to consider that you go for what you like and follow the fashion after.
