Any watch is with you every second of your life (when you wear it), the good and the bad times. It will get scarred like you, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder:) For a first Rolex I would buy a new one to signify the moment / achievement. Buy the watch you want, not the watch your budget allows. |

If you see yourself wearing it with enjoyment for years to come then I could see worst ways to spend 1500-2k on instant gratification. If it's only to cross something off your list... I'd hold off... then wait till you've found appreciation for said brand or a model that really screams to you then go for it. You'll be far more thankful and happy imho.

I agree. The more i have been looking the more the number goes up. Im really not a fan of the sub i really like the older date justs. Looking for a two tone with a nice fluted bezel. I found a local dealer of rolex who can source some for me im going to look tomorrow. The more homework i do the more i learn. Most members here all scream to wear wear wear!!! |

I wouldn't look at it as an investment, buy what you like and enjoy. May be tough in the price range but there are some options.

Save up a little more and buy a better Rolex. Your price range is a little low right now.

Buy what ever you feel happy with.
But with all honesty, with 2k I would be looking at tudor, not rolex. |

Mine was $2750. There out there but anything sub 3k is gonna be fairly worn and definitely in need of a service. I bought a stainless datejust with a linen dial for 2200 if I remember correctly. I serviced it and it's going strong today

Sometimes I look at my day date and think "that could have been a supercharger for my NSX" or "that's my golf R with 500+hp and a built motor right there" lol Honestly I would miss the yellow gold awesomeness too much though so there it stays, taunting me from my wrist

Personally not into TT Datejusts, but gotta say OP, that's a heck of a watch you got. Well done!
