Advice Needed

Hi,

In a bit of a dilemma.

I currently own a Hulk (11610 LV) and Bluesy (116613 LB).

I need to generate some cash but still keep my membership of the “Rolex club”.

I’ve been offered £5,000 for the Hulk (3 yrs old) and £6,700 for the Bluesy (1 month old).

The Bluesy just doesn’t do it for me. I’m conscious of scratching and banging it everytime I wear it and I don’t like the unwanted attention it gets sometimes. Looks great on other people, just not me.

My love affair with the Hulk seems to have dwindled. I always find it doesn’t go with a lot of clothes I wear outside of work and I just fancy a change.

I’ve always liked the Sea Dweller. Previously had the Deep Sea (black face) but found this too big.

I’m after an everyday wearer, one which I’ll never take off. I like the SD because it’s under the radar but still has enough presence for me to appreciate I’m wearing it. It’s so versatile as well – goes with anything.

Would you guys think I was nuts to let both pieces go? I could do with the cash and do like the look of the SD. I’m just conscious I could regret this later on.

BTW – My AD also has ceramic non-date Sub and date Sub. I’m ruling both of these out as I fancy something a bit different.

Thanks guys.

Bugger. I just got to your penultimate sentence where you said you've ruled our a black Sub.

Are you really sure?

For an under the radar watch that covers pretty much every base you'd be hard pressed to pick a better watch than a black Sub.

SDc sounds ideal so sell away. Maybe try and get 200 more for your Hulk.

Sounds like you need to take a little more time and think this over before making a decision. Unless you need the cash badly, no need to hurry.

Sometimes there could be something wrong with the watch, etc.. But if you lose interest in the Hulk, then there is something wrong with you.

Repeat after me: Bye Bye Bluesy !

Peace !

Get the 116600. You'll be very happy with it.

You answered your own questions by stating you the love affair has ended. Move them on to someone who will love them. As to what you should get, only YOU know, take your time.

Well...it sounds like you need the cash, don't like the two watches you have, and want something else. Is that nuts? Heck, don't ask us...we're all a little nutty.

Go for what makes you (and your wallet) happy. Good luck!

I have all 3 watches, and I love the SD4, 116600. Its truly an amazing watch with a little more bulk than the Subs. Its absolutely an everyday watch that you will love.
Another big factor is they can be bought form a trusted seller here, and instantly save close to $3000 from retail. The discounts are a huge cherry on the cake.
go for it
Ps.I love my hulk, and bluesy is getting a little love back now too

When the love-affair is over with a watch, it's over for me...given your situation, I would flip both pieces and pick up the SD....maybe add a BLNR in the future!

You should be able to get a lot more than the quoted offers for your watches especially if your looking to part exchange.

Give Watchfinder a call/email.

Quite a nice 'problem' you have .............

Agree with the other posts that it does sound inevitable one or both will go. I bought a lovely condition Explorer 2 Polar a few months ago from a jeweller I regularly buy from, but have only worn it half a dozen times as I just don't 'love it' like my other watches. I really should do what you are doing and part company with it so if that model is something you might be interested in as a great 'under the radar' piece, just PM me for all the details and lots of photos. It is 2006 full set with 18 months warranty remaining.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.............

I would vote for a GMT IIc LN, black ExpII, or the SD. All three of those would easiy be a daily wearer, and they would go with most outfits.

I would not do anything a hurry. Wait a couple days and see how you feel. Personality-Wise, sounds like you are a flipper. Own that identity and move forward.
