Got my kid a watch

My wife was overseas recently and was asking my son what he wanted when she gets back , and he wanted a watch ! he is only 6 yo , what kind of watch do you get a 6yo

It has to be small enough to fit him , and tough enough to to handle bangs and knocks , and I also told her to get something with analogue hands so he learns to read the time.

She came back with this , not sure about the word "baby-g" on it but he seems to love it , keeps asking everyone if the want to know the time

That's great, should be able to take all the knocks that a 6 year old can dish out!

The only problem is it has too many features , he keeps pressing the buttons and the bottom right button toggles through 44 time zones lol , built in temp sensor , tides as well as a host of other things lol

Great starter G-Shock. Before they became Baby-Gs, they were Club Gs. I got lucky and found this one NOS for my son when he moved up from a Timex.

The perfect first watch! As a child it was the Timex Ironman (1990's version) and G-Shock's that helped fuel this obsession. Good call getting him started early!

My daughter (3 years old) gave me instructions that when I went to Geneva she needed, bracelets, necklaces, rings but no earings!!! So obviously dashing around in between watch hunting I looked at pribess dresses, oinking pigs and then saw this...quick whatsapp of the picture the wife and the daughter wanted the watch with the bee...asked every day and hasnt taken it off her wrist yet and yes...everything is 7 o clock!! Haute horology at its best!

Wonderful.

What a joyous thing for us watch geeks to be able to buy our kids their first watch.

At what age is appropriate to buy them their first watch?

Around the age when they start reading , counting

But any age really , if they show an interest why not.

Now he knows when it's time for bed !
