My Rare Vintage Rolex - Cant find anything

I am trying to find out more of my vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual DATEJUST. Nobody seems to know anything about this specific model. Its certainly authentic, as Ive had it sent to Rolex in the past for cleaning, etc. I purchased it circa January 1988. I believe that it is its unique/very rare in that it was the only year that Rolex did not use a sapphire crystal. Model is R160133/B62523006 which is 18KT Gold & Stainless with diamond numerals. I purchased it in Worcester Massachusetts at Sharfman Jewelers. Ive attached photo of watch and paperwork, etc. Any advice to find out more would be very helpful.

I'm not following. The only year they didn't use a sapphire crystal? Rolex produced a zillion references with plexi crystals. Also, get your serial number out of your post. There's no reason to make that public.

It's a nice and complete set. I don't see rarity or anything particularly noteworthy.

Who could I ask to understand a value. I was going to give it to one of my children at some point, been sitting around for the last 20 years. I tried to find something like it with online searches but couldn't find something same type.

Datejusts are all over the Internet, as well as values.

I'm sure that your children will enjoy a nice heirloom.
