Chances of finding a 116520 at an AD?
Might make a few phone calls today but I am wondering if it's even worth it? What do you think my chances are of finding an AD with a 116520 Daytona for sale? Has anyone in the US or Canada seen one for sale recently?

Wops second post was a mistake. But I will add that it seems grey sellers are already charging a premium for bnib 116520 Which is an interesting topic in itself :).

Doubtful you will find one. I'm actually an AD here in NC. We are a smaller market store so usually can get the harder to find models for customers. But at the New Daytona is a whole different beast. Wait list is looking like a minimum of 2-3 years at this point. If you have a strong relationship with your AD it will probably be sooner but still a long wait. Sorry.

I can check to see if my AD has one. They usually do, but keep it in the safe. However, it will be full retail.

In germany we have a few AD's where you can still buy the 116520, but is not so easy because they have this Model only in their safe.

I would have thought that they wouldn't be able to sell discontinued models.
It would certainly be a great pic up though! |

I am pretty sure a piece can be found at an AD somewhere in North America, but getting a deal on it will be remote.
How long is the list? Perhaps take you a day or less to call every single one. From my sources in Asia there's plenty to be had brand new, a few Singapore ADs are saving them to sell at 50%+ premium, in Japan grey dealer in Kyoto has black for US$14k, in Hong Kong AD one sold for US$13k, nothing in Taiwan AD but lots in grey dealers, stock mostly from Europe.

Good info guys. I think if you sit on a 116520 bnib for only a year or two it's an easy few thousand. Plus they are really nice !

I saw a BNIB 116520 in both black and white in an AD's case in Texas about a month ago.

It's possible. I know some ADs are keeping their last ones in the safe for special customers. Although one nearby had a white one in the case for six months. It's since sold.

I called every dealer in Canada west of Toronto. I asked about ceramic daytonas, new 116520s and used 116520s. No dice.

Possible but unlikely. You'd have to try low traffic cities and hope for the best. Down here in San Diego, CA they were all gone couple weeks after the announcement of 116500 (I bought one in fact). They are great watches and you won't be disappointed.

As of about 2 months ago, I knew an AD in Dallas had a fully stickered 116520 black dial. My impression from my friend that works there was that the watch was just being held in the back until the right clients asked for it.
