Limited to 1000 pieces, The Magrette Regattare Chronograph is one of the first chronograph pieces that Magrette Timepieces made. I got #243.

The Case & Finish

The case & finish of the Regattare Chronograph is similar to the Regattare 2011, from the polished top case and brushed sides to the brushed bezel, the only difference from the Regattare 2011 is the placement of the screw-down crown and the pushers since the Regattare Chronograph is a chrono.

The Dial

The dial is beautifully made. It features a tachymeter, left sub-dial (seconds), right sub-dial (30 mins. counter) & a chronograph long hand with lume at its tip.
The sub-dials have a chrome frame which adds class to the dial.
The hands are polished and well-lumed, given that it has super luminova C3, it cannot compete with the lume of diver watches, but the lume is acceptable, still readable in the dark after 5 mins. of led light charging.

The Movement

The Magrette Regattare Chronograph uses the Seagull TY-2901 or ST-19, it is a hand-wound chronograph movement made in China. Yes, it is made in China, but don't be discouraged and doubtful just because of its origin, Seagull is arguably the most recognized China based watch company that makes quality pieces and movements. The TY-2901 movement is based on the Venus 175 (Swiss) movement that was made in the 1940s. It has a column wheel design which is regarded as the better design than the heart plate design which was developed by Valjoux.
