Became a 2 watch guy
Well this weekend, I've now become a two watch person. I never expected for it to happen so soon. I received a 16613 from my soon to be father in law. It was his one and only watch, that he wore daily. He had multiple strokes a few months ago, and has sadly had to be placed in assisted care living. It's been his last wish to see his only child happily married. He will get to see that happen next week.
I've never been a fan of gold, but this watch means much more then that. I love that he wore it every day, and has a ton of scratches and knicks on the watch! It has a ton of character, and the stories I imagine it could tell. Hopefully one day, I'll be able to pass it down to my children. Now time for pictures, as we all know that's what everyone wants. My two duo together. Guess they will be fighting for wrist time. |

Thats a lovely pair of watches, and rolex, to me, is always worth more than the sum of its parts when they are gifted in a minor as yours has been.
I am sorry for your father in law and hope he lives out the rest of his days peacefully and in comfort, and I am sure you're upcoming marriage will mean more to him than the watch ever did. Congrats and thanks for sharing a lovely story. It's these kind of things that make a Rolex priceless in my opinion. |

Congrats to you and your future wife. I wish nothing but the best for your father-in-law. Sounds like a great man. Cherish his daughter and the watch forever.

Congrats on your wedding and your watch. The gold ( in this specific watch) will grow on you. Wait until you get the complements on how nice a color combo that watch is. With the story behind it, it will be your cherished watch. Wear it in good health.
