No More GMT Parts Availability for Indies

Not sure if this has been discussed yet, but it seems like a pretty major development. I just came from the shop of an independent watchmaker who is well known and respected by many on the forum. He was none too pleased to report that Rolex will no longer be selling GMT parts (all references) to its independent parts accounts. The reasons given by Rolex sound like BS, but it doesn't sound like there's any way around it. That doesn't mean an indie watchmaker can't still service your GMT, but if your watch requires any GMT-specific parts, they won't be able to provide them (unless they already had them in stock before getting cut off by Rolex). That includes bezel inserts, so get them now while you can! Or, be prepared to send your GMT off to a RSC. Pretty crazy!

I thought this had been the case for some time now.

He said GMT and Oysterquartz. And apparently there was already a similar restriction on parts for certain Daytona references.
