I own the 144060 ceramic Sub and a 16623 Yacht-Master and I have a small wrist. I bought the YM first because I loved the styling and it was less common than the Sub but with similar features. The YM does have a more compact case, it's thinner and the lugs no doubt are not as boxy as the sub so it seems to conform to the wrist better. The Glide Lock clasp is a very nice feature on the sub.
Comfort wise I can't say that I really have ever thought "hey the Sub is really uncomfortable" or alternatively that the YM us much more comfortable, I really never think about it or notice it. So with that to one side I would try both on and go with the one you really like the look of, usually you just know. One thing I will say is that the Sub is more casual, for my current life I wear it a lot more than my YM. Good luck, it's a big decision but either way they are both great looking watches. |

I like both watches on you but I think the fact that you wear your watch low and more bracelet-like causes the sub's maxi head to feel even heavier and slide down further on your wrist than is comfortable. You might try sizing it to sit further back and more snugly. This might make all the difference. That being said, I totally understand your attraction to the YM. it's a beautiful watch with is substantial yet slimmer/lighter feel. This would be the best bet if weight of the Sub is pulling you down.

Anyways thank you for your comment I appreciate it Quote:
So now that I finally have it and I thought it wasn't comfortable it was really bothering me. I hope I truly did figure out how to configure the watch for my weird shaped wrist (7'5'') and it continues to wear comfortably. Thank you for your response I appreciate it |

I agree that linked bracelets fit best when the 12 o'clock side is longer by at least 2 links. I hope this change will make things better and that you'll find peace and happiness with your Sub, at least while waiting for your future YM. :-)

It seems like you had/still have your heart set on the Sub. The YM is my choice but just because it is my favorite Rolex. What exactly about the fit of the Sub don't you like? I apologize if that's been addressed earlier in this thread. Do you think you'll get used to it? With the way you describe, I don't think you'd be happy "settling" with the Yacht-Master.

I know it's unpopular here, but I wear mine like bracelets. I have for 30+ years. Once you get used to it, I think it's the most comfortable way. The watch gets to move around as you move. I know it depends on a lot of things like what you do for a living, etc. I was a musician when I started wearing these things and couldn't stand anything tight on my wrist.
If it was a 1980's president, then bracelet stretch would be an issue. With the modern SS models, I can tell you from experience that they just don't stretch out anymore. Just an additional thought...

YM gets my vote also. I have absolutely no love for the new sub design with the large case. true violation on the original design (in my opinion)

Why not try the actual Sub that was your grail, presumably the pre-ceramic Sub....14060/16610. Could be much more comfortable for you, and the actual Sub you fell in love with.

I think I have finally gotten close to a comfortable fit. I need one more tweak and it should be awesome (after reading everyone else's recommendations.) I need to move the 1/2 link from the 12 o'clock to the 6 o'clock but for some reason the screwdriver that works for the other links will NOT work for my 1/2 link. I have tried heating it up to loosen up the loctite but it just will not budge. I think I may have to take it to my AD or a local jeweler and have them do it. |

Good question, and I have. I like the look but after having the 114060 it just seems way more solid and I like the upgrades (ceramic bezel, glide lock, blue lume.) I may end up going down that road though. Thanks for the advice. |

Thank you everyone for your opinions I really appreciate them all. I just wanted to give this thread an update and a conclusion.
So for the past few days I have been messing with the links trying to dial in the perfect fit and I think I finally have. I ended up with 4 links on the 6 o'clock side and 6 links on the 12 o'clock side with glide lock about half the way in. I found a perfect spot higher up on my wrist and now I don't even notice it's there. I'm very happy that I finally figured out how to make it comfortable for me. Thanks again everyone. Pic (BTW can someone please tell me how to embed a damn picture on this website, I've tried using the little picture button and posting the link in there and no dice. I've also used numerous image hosting sites and it just won't work.) http://imgur.com/a/fStSK |

When you post a reply use the advanced option and upload the picure from your computer/tablet/phone using the attachment (paperclip) icon above the text box (select the picture and upload) Here its is. Have to say (and I'm sure all the doctors will agree) your placement looks perfect and is exactly where I wear mine. In fact that picture should be a sticky for where a watch probably should be worn Glad you got it sorted

Great to hear you've figured out a comfortable position! Funny, I'm in the same boat as you (always worn my watch closer to my hand and I'm slowly trying to teach myself to leave some room). Enjoy your Sub!

The new pic is exactly how I wear my watches. Glad it worked out for you. May take some getting used to, but soon you won't even notice it is there.

I'd vote for the YM. Better case curvature and more comfortable.....and more unique.
