Love to see the pics! I actually bought this one as a gift to myself to commemorate my last 20+ years in law enforcement. I'm going to retire next year from this career and start my next career challenge - not exactly sure what that'll be just yet. I wanted a special daily reminder of friends and experiences throughout the years...I think this one will definitely work!

Why do most people choose the SeaDweller over the Sub? Functionality or appearance? Appearance-wise, I can see that the SD might be more appealing for those who like symmetric lines as there is no cyclops. Although, I'm not sure if I like the increased tics on the SD bezel.

Most people actually choose the Sub over the SD I would say the Sub is Rolex's second best seller behind the DJ, to the man on the street the SD is just a more expensive Sub date!

However the SD has a strong following in the WIS comunity and rightly so, agruments for both sides of the camp but I for one like the subtle differences and love my SDc, you can see by my sig the ceramic Daytona is the only one to last against my SDc.

After joining Rolex in the modern era of cases it wasn't until I owned the SDc I realised how much I prefer the lug to oyster profile and it made my Sub feel blocky.

But like with everything each to their own, but from me you can't go wrong with a SDc

Congrats on an absolute beast of a watch! I flipped my Sub C and GMT II-C for the SD4K last month and couldn't be happier. I can't find a single fault with it. The Sub C was my daily for two years and the lugs never bothered me but the SD4K lugs look so much more proportionate. Enjoy!

I've always liked bigger watches, and have worn a Breitling Emergency for years while flying in Alaska - For a big watch, it wears pretty small due to the titanium case. Ever since then I've had a tough time going to a smaller watch. I had a DSSD when they first came out and really loved the size...but didn't love the weight! It got flipped. I think the SDc will be a perfect fit since it's a tad thicker and seems to wear a bit larger than the Sub. This was my main reason, although I personally like the lack of cyclops, the raised crystal and the case dimensions, so it's been a win/win with this one. I did have some reservations about the bezel being a bit busy, but you don't really notice the markings when seeing/wearing the watch in person. Another big plus for me is that the watch has an aire about it which reminds me of the 1665 (one of my favorites) so I feel like I'm getting to enjoy a newly built classic on a daily basis...

Congratulations. It's an awesome watch. It's my one and only Rolex and it has been off my wrist for no more than a total of 24 hours since I bought it over 3 months ago. You'll find you can do just about anything in it. Enjoy!

Love the SD4000. It is definitely on my wish list!

My current favorite that own is BLNR and my Tudor BB fights for wrist time .....but... I think the SD4000 would slot in very nicely!

Been running for 9 days now with no resets and is only 8 seconds fast when checked against the USNO Master Clock! I can definitely live with that!!

New Sea Dweller 4000

For graduation I got a DSSD (had to wait 7 months to get it as I had no relationship with the AD and it was in 08 the first year for it.) had a Sub C and a AP ROO about 5 years ago. Went through a divorce and sold the AP. Sold the Sub and bought the SD4k. Imho The most comfortable of any of those watches. But I did sell it and it is one that I wish I would not have sold. But since then I have bought another SubC and got a triple 6 DOB SD. I will say that the older broken and Rolexes are super comfortable. I haven't worn an older Rolex since I wore my step dads Rolex in high school and college. But the modern SD4k is the best SS Rolex right now. Perfect in every way. Congrats on a great one. A true future classic for sure!!!!
