I was just about to post a thread asking whether anyone has any knowledge or experience of ADs in Dubai. I may be heading there for work in January and I was thinking it might be easier to buy a Hulk there than it is here in the uk. Any idea of the prices in Dubai? Thanks!

Not sure on the steel prices but I was thinking about buying the gold GMT from Atlantis hotel Rolex they started at £27000 so quite a bit more expensive guy was very nice and dropped to £22000 but still too much easily see them for £19000 in uk so I passed.

Thanks, so that is approx £6,200 vs the £6,600 UK list price. If I do go to Dubai in Jan it sounds like I might have a better chance of finding one in stock ,and the price would be better than the uk price.

Good point. I expect that with import/vat charges it might be a bit more expensive than uk price, so I'd need to decide whether that was worth jumping the queue and playing all the silly AD games here. I suspect it would be worth it. Thanks for the info.

I stayed at the Atlantis a couple of years ago. It still amazes me to this day that there was a Rolex AD in my hotel

That's where I got my first look at the Platona

Also consider that all the AD's in Dubai are all owned by the same company. If any store in Dubai has your watch they will bring it to your location to make the sale.

Discounts vary, but 12% off is typical for SS and 25% for PM.

FWIW, Dubai is no longer best pricing in the region. The DOH boutique has consistently better pricing.

Even just a year ago I thought Dubai was worth a buying visit.

In March this year the pound had dropped to the point where you had to get a decent discount to make it worth while, but the availability could swing it.

By May the only reason I was looking was to see models I'd not found in the UK or elsewhere. If nothing else, you'll be pushed to find anywhere with more jewel encrusted watches if that's your thing.

Really interesting about Doha International. If it wasn't for the hassle involved in a short trip through Saudi I'd consider it a nice sightseeing trip to fly into Dubai then drive to Doha and leave from there.

Fly Qatar Airways with a stop over in DOH. It's a good airline and the pricing is favorable.

Cheers for the tip, I'll run the figures next time we visit

Please God let it be soon, the weather and the inlaws are driving me mad and I need some time in the Sun and a good old wander around Deira to decompress before they end up taking me away in a straight jacket

The stock in mall of the Emirates is just so good. They have pretty much everything apart from the steel daytona.
