What to do in 2017...

With the new year right around the corner, it started me thinking about what my goals will be for coming year (yes, I even have goals for my watches).........

1) Do I simplify? Get my 10 watch collection to 5 or less in 2017?

2) Do I just keep picking up other watches? I have been thinking about the Daydate wg with the green dial and the 5711 patek for a while ...every once in awhile a smurf pops in my head to say hello too.... Thoughts on which one?

3) This might be related to item 1 - standardize on Rolexes - I have multiple brands besides Rolexes now (Panerai, Cartier, etc.) - Seems like just standardizing on Rolexes makes life simpler!

4) Go with the classics - Pick up a 5711 Patek (Blue) and AP 15202 (blue), eventually might need to go with a gold daydate (vs the WG daydate above)...

What are your plans for 2017? Wishing everyone a great 2017!

my goal is to get the coca cola GMT Master II, assuming that speculations are correct and that it is releasing in 2017.

I think it would round out my current Rolex collection very well which includes a two-toned Datejust II and a Celinni Date (black dial)

Wishing you also a great 2017!
For me personally a ROLEX collection from 2 till max 3 pieces is more then enough.
So, in your case, mentioned above, I would pick option 1

I am trying to consolidate in 2017. Want to get down to the green box. Debating whether the triple zero and Speedy make it in the box.

Pair down non Rolex models.
Add a 1675 GMT, SD and a WG Daytona on a strap.

I like to keep an open mind .. This was a busy year by my standards having added the DBlue and the BLNR.

My next piece will be another vintage OR PM

I think the Nautilus and WG DD are great consolidations to quality. Next year I fancy some red; 1680, CokeC or DRSDc.

I'm kind of in a similar spot...consolidate or add. Hmm....decisions, decisions.

Right now, the two jumping out at me are the new EXP and the 116655. Not sure if one or both are going to make it in as the box is already pretty full...we shall see.
