This year has been a "FLIP-FEST".....

Well I was truly planning on 2016 being a year of content in my watch life. March 17th threw a wrench into that! The second I saw the new Daytona, I knew changes were coming. I'm almost embarrassed to say that I started the year with 4 watches (all Crowns), and I don't own even one of them today. The BLNR and the Federer DJII are the two I miss the most. I'm currently at 3 (which is the perfect number for me even though I could go to 2), and I'm hoping for a year of smooth seas. Here is an up to date family photo and no introductions are needed. I will say that since adding to YG Daytona, the gold bug has been nibbling me constantly.......

Hahahaha!!! I anticipate 2017 will be a very busy year for you as well and that is what makes this hobby fun! I think I was one of the few people that advised you to Lee your Wimbledon DJ2... I know people here are crazy about the DJ41, however, that Federer is the DJ2 to own! I look forward to seeing the 116718 on your wrist! Question black or green dial for you?

Mr Sam, you did advise that AND I agree BUT the DJII had to go to fund the YMII, every time I see a pic of one, I sigh a bit. $40k-ish (2 kids about to enter college) is the number I want to stay at in the watch game, so not sure how accomplish this if I get the 116718. Trust me if been pondering it!! As far as the dial, strongly leaning to green but a little concerned with versatility bc I ditched the Hulk after 5 months. I'll add this- I still love the YMII, but.......

Ah yes! Of course my laughter was in jest... 2 kids entering into college is a major deal! I am sure you can cut it down to 2 watches. One sports and one daily dress up watch. There are no rules to this wretched but fun hobby. If you no longer love the YM 2 then it's time to move on from it, nothing wrong or bad about it! I always enjoy reading your post even when I was not actively posting on the forums, happy to chime in and chat with you anytime if you would like my help in anything with related!

24 total transactions in 2016. Maybe will aim for 20 in 2017

You sir need green dial gmt2 and 116500 and you are set for under 40k.

Honestly, the love affair has died down a bit and I don't wear it all that much. I think I love it more bc of "what it is" more than anything. Twice I've gone into ADs and they've brought up "hey I remember when some guy posted pics of the first one bought". I came clean with one of them. The watch has a story with me so it would be hard to part with, but....also, It's almost a hair boring for me at times.

Enjoy the ride Rick as long as you're enjoying this hobby/passion...all is good!! At least that's my outlook

I've bought, sold, flipped, reacquired, a few this year! I've decided where I want/need to be with my collection (mostly) I'm thinking 2017 will be a MUCH quieter/slower year. HOPEFULLY

A white dial Daytona is going to fetch a premium on the market now...put a YM II on the blocks as well and you should have a 116718.

Gold gmt and gold Daytona on strap. A great pair if you ask me and I wouldn't be afraid to go all gold. Down the road, you can a stainless reference if you want.

Whatever do you mean, I think I managed to make like $150 on one of them. Let's focus on the good.

Yep, I've bought and sold the BLNR and DJII Federer dial twice. Miss them both especially the DJII!

It's always nice when you're finally content with what you have! A few years ago I just couldn't get the right truck and kept flipping them (It does get costly with anything expensive), my friends started accusing me of doing it so I never had to change the oil!

A great set of three there.
I've flipped a few too. Once it stops getting some wrist time i start thinking of the flip.

I'm with ya there! Car flipping can leave serious financial scars. I'm finally better in this dept.
