That should be a Montblanc 161 ball point.

Serial numbers on MB began to appear in 1991. The pen looks genuine.

If you look under the clip do you see the word "Pix" on the underside of the clip?

Not really.

You can buy these pens on Ebay from good sellers for about $120.00 pre-owned. Some will go below $80.00 if your are patient.

No... The Le Grande is much larger. I believe the Le Grande is the 167.

In the photo below, the one on the far left is the 167 Le Grande. The three on the far right are a 161 in size.

That big sucker is the MB Leonardo Artist pencil.

Nice collection, this 161 has a hairline crack in the barrel. Should i take it to montblanc to fix it or would it be cheaper to buy a replacement part on ebay?

If you have not purchased it I would abstain!

If you have you will need to send it to MB for the work. They will likely replace the cracked part and you will pay.

You can look for a replacement part online, but it will be hit and miss.

I wish you well!

I went to the MB Boutique in Costa Mesa, CA, and had work done on a 146, it was leaking. It cost $80 and came back looking new. I have had several pens repaired there with good results.

Montblanc will repair your pens and they will always come back looking better than new!

But is the cost worth it.

About 20 years ago I dropped my Montblanc BP on a concrete floor and it shattered. So much for "precious resin".

I sent it back to them and the repaired it perfectly. Didn't charge me a cent!

Ahhh! I love the good old days!

I've got some ruthenium plating that needs to be redone on both of my starwalker midnights. Debating on sending them in to Montblanc

I am not sure where else you could send it.

If it were mine, MB would be my first stop.
