I'm mostly a vintage Rolex guy, but I always like having one current model, so I picked up a SK4000 several months ago but soon sold it. Great timepiece, just too heavy for me.

Then ............ the new Pelagos came along! It gives that chunky modern watch feel but with fantastic vintage touches. And the titanium is much lighter than the SK4000, of course. Only had it on my wrist a couple of days, but really loving it. And the case-back number thing is a stroke of genius by Tudor for us watch-collector geeks. (Excuse the smudges.)

Thanks! Does anyone's paperwork actually mention the case back number? I find it interesting that Tudor doesn't put it on the guarantee card along with the serial number. I assume the company's internal records link the serial number to the case back number, but if not, there would be nothing to prevent guys from swapping (or trading with cash) case backs for "cooler" numbers or numbers that might have more personal meaning. I had my AD include my case back number on my sales paperwork so at least I have an official record of it.

This is my worry as well, I just picked mine up last night and the AD offered me an appraisal letter with mention of the case back number. Thought that was cool of them to do so.
