I've called around 30 ADs around the country as well as in several European states and am absolutely getting nowhere with the search at this rate.

I've reached the point where I'm sick and tired of being told we're not taking deposits, need to have prior history, 5-6 year wait blah blah. Sorry if I sound a little frustrated with this post but I just needed to get that off my back seeing people who are on their 2nd and 3rd pieces already and some flipping them as fast as they can come in. I also refuse to pay double the RRP on the grey market as a matter of principle to not encourage flippers as well as because of budget constraints.

Please, if anyone has any advice on what I should do to be seriously in the running for a 116500 within the next year or so or know of a AD (anywhere in US or Europe really) who might be open to a serious discussion please send some information my way and I will be forever indebted.

Cheers,

Jon

Thanks for the suggestion, already did but told they were out of stock and not accepting onto their waiting list. Cheers.

To everyone else who replied, I get that no one's going to be giving a handout, and I'm no longer asking for one.

To get the topic back on track, if anyone else has a tip or two on ADs they've seen which might be open to a conversation, please do reach out. Always appreciative of all and any comments and looking forward to joining the DayC club in 2017.

Get yourself a BLRO second hand and there's a guy in the other thread who will give you a white 116500 a dssd and 4000 quid.

as i said before AD's will look after their high spending clients - lists do not figure in the equation

yes, there are lists but as my AD said most on the lists are from people they have never had any dealings with and are from all parts of the UK

IF my AD can get me a watch that is hard to find then they will - but in the last three months i have spent circa £25K with them - so yes, i expect to be towards the top of any waiting list

also they know i'm not buying watches to 'flip' as bluntly i do not need the hassle or the money!

People talk about history with an AD but it's a bit of a chicken-and-egg problem as it can be hard to establish a relationship if they won't sell you a watch. I ended up buying a ore owned 116520 so no AD relationship there. I guess I did just buy a SS GMT retail but not where I live (taking advantage of a currency drop to get a new watch for pretty close to perished price).

Anyway I largely gave up on the DayC once I figured out the lay of the land.
