I would get the YM 2 as it is less common! Of course if your wrist can handle it.
Anyway, both pieces are at the top of the food chain so you can't mess this up.

Sub for me all day. I also did read that it was genuinely tough to tell the time with those older hands. While that's not a big concern to me when shopping for a watch, there are those who consider being able to tell the time an imperative. :))

For me I do not care for the YM2 so classic look of a Sub would be my pick

Sub without a second guess. The sunburst dial really sets it off.
I never really took any interest in the YM2.

For me it would be the Sub hands down. The Yachtmaster 2 has never done anything for me and I find the watch face, bezel and complications not needed.

I chose the YG Subc. YM2 is very striking as well.

Had both, and loved them both.

While the YM has incredible wrist presence and is one of the most unique watches made today, (IMO), getting a good fit is kinda hit or miss. And this is key for me, especially with a big heavy watch like the yachty.

The sub wins in terms of fit, legibility (especially since you're looking at the gold hands model), and more useable complication. One of, if not the best PM model made today. Again, my opinion.

It is mighty hard to resist a big ol chunk of gold!! The Sub does wear more comfortable but the YM II screams attention.
