That gets to my question (see post #28) that no one has answered yet. Does the SD4K (assume that's what you meant to type) nickname refer to both the ceramic and pre-ceramic versions of the SD, since they both have 4k depth rating, or is it only meant to refer to the ceramic version. I've also seen SDc used as na abbreviation for the ceramic, so maybe SD4k can be used for either. That would make sense, since two longtime members used it to describe the OP's 16600 in this thread.

Thank you ALL for the congrats. I appreciate it for sure.

For one, I thought SD4K was a new boy band and name for my watch which is aok with me I guess. :haha: Actually it's interesting to learn more about the nicknames and history of the watch. I read a lot but this forum is teaching me even more. Great stuff all.

Much Aloha!

That is amazimg! I went scuba on 3 islands and haven't seen the illusive Taco!

Well, I saw something that look like a taco but was actually a chalupa.

Oh and this may need a new post about whether or not we can call both the pre ceramic and ceramic SEADWELERS. SD4k.

I have always thought it was meant for the ceramic version but could be wrong.

It took me about 12 dives to even know what I was looking for. Luckily I went with a few veterans that taught me the ropes. The chalupa is harder to find in the ocean tho! hahaha!

Congratulations on the watch, very nice indeed, as for the little guy, i prefer to see them in their natural habitat, but if that is what gets you going.

They are both sd4k in my book. That's why I call the 116600 SDc

Nice SD. That was my first and part of me wants to try to get it back. Of course, it's competing with some of the newer models nowadays.
