I say no. Quality conventional straps, even in colour or exotics for these watches IMO.

I am a huge proponent of NATO straps, but I don't think it works on the day date (or DJ).

Dd & nato

Depends on the colors and hardware material.

Dress watch + NATO = Wrong. Sorry.
And I love NATOs, and DDs! Just not together.

No, the NATO overwhelms the DD.

My father insisted on wearing the DD I got him on a Nato. I have done it on occasion and it wears fine, looks great in the summer on a white strap with a stripe, etc. I know I'm in the minority, such is life.

Some NATOs match up better

This combo is one of the better options if you like NATOs. Hard to find
gold colored stripe on them.

a dress watch and a NATO go together like a mercedes sedan and off-road tires. it's a total mismatch and IMHO does a disservice both to the watch as well as the wearer.

The role of a Rolex dress watch is not to be a Submariner, or a Daytona, it's to be a dress watch. Put it on a handsome leather strap or bracelet and let it be the best version of itself...the thing it was designed to be.

To each their own of course but as a big fan of natos, I think the DD looks best on leather strap (we can all agree the bracelet is always #1 but putting that aside):

I put my DJ on a nato rarely and that's already a big stretch in my opinion...
