Question on 1603 DJ Dial Font
what do you guys think, esp about the stretched out 'oyster perpetual'?
i'm aware that many vintage rolex, esp DJ, dials are (old!) redials, and i'm ok with that. my question is: is this dial acceptable or out of bounds? thx in advance for any and all input! |

Mine is legit, yours looks the same (except for the J), so I say you're in bounds on a nice vintage example. |

It's fine. I have the same doorstop dial with the 'straight' J.

"Doorstop"...I love it....we need a thread describing the many variations of the stick dial...
Or is there one already? |

I agree! My 1603 sticks could be described as "3 segments with a really glossy part in the middle and no black accents" whereas 6 and 9 of my 1601 could be described as "yule logs". I'd love to find out what the real nicknames are. |

One more follow up questions regarding 1603: is closed font 6/9 on the date wheel acceptable or an incorrect later replacement?
