I think the Tritium 14060 is the best of both worlds, creamy patina look with modern internals.

For 5513 or 1680 perhaps. Not for a 5 digit.

As stated above I would only trade for a 5513, 5512 or 1680 if I wanted to go vintage cool.
However, the current model no-date Submariner is a very cool watch in terms of function, wrist presence and robustness, so there is no downside to keeping what you already own. Buying a really nice example of the vintage models above is not simply 'point & click', you need to do research, be very careful, ensure all aspects of the watch are acceptable, remember we are talking about a 40-50 year old watch, so many have wear & tear issues.....that can if you are not careful lead to tears.

I am fortunate to have both and they are great watches, though they do wear differently. The SubC has a heavier feel to it and leaving aside the speculation regarding the fragility of the ceramic bezel, certainly feels sturdier, although that in no way underplays the 5513. ......superb watch in every way! Really great to have these choices!

As Steve said - choose the model you want most - do your research - buy the best one you can.

My first Rolex was a 14060M and although I loved the watch, once I got a newer sub (LV) with the better bracelet and clasp, the M's days were numbered. It was sold and replaced later with the 114060. I won't go back.
However, that said, I do see the appeal in the older watches. But that old stamped bracelet was just never up to the quality of the watch itself, IMHO.

At the current prices of a decent condition 5513 it would be pretty much an even trade with a new SubC. Not a swap I would do... maybe if anything pick up a 16610 and pocket the cash difference.

I really wouldn't see the point in that unless you REALLY liked the old case, small plots and hands and bracelet better. Right now, for me, the 114060 is the ultimate daily wearer.

For a 4 digit, not 5.
