1978 Datejust service Estimate

I sent a 1978 datejust off to the watchbuyers group. I wanted to run the estimate by everyone. Also, it's good to compare prices in case people are thinking about having a rolex serviced. Probably has not been serviced in a long time.

Didn't know it was a 1978 which is cool because that's the year I was born.
Required

400 basic
65 mainspring
105 automatic axle
140 date wheel
91 second wheel
8 2 springbars

optional
135 replace acrylic crystal
120 new end link (missing one)
120 new hand set.

Total for everything 1178

The only thing that kinda surprised me was the crystal. I was reading that acrylic seems to be cheap.

All of those parts, except the end link and hand-set, are usually included in a Rolex RSC full service, if they have them in stock.

Send it to RSC. Here in the U.K., service on a 1972 DJ36 is £850 I believe.

It just takes 2 months instead of the usual 4 weeks as per a newer model.

I would send it to the RSC in Dallas and have it done right! Might even be cheaper!
