Explorer II question.

Hi all.

I stumbled onto this site the other day, and it's good to see so many people with such good taste in watches.I recently purchased an Explorer II and am not quite sure of the purpose of the red hand, and how to change it's position. Many thanks, and keep up the good work on this site!

Hi Hammer

The Red hand is to track either 24hr (am/pm) time or a second time zone. The red/24hr hand points to the outer bezel which covers the 24hrs in a day.

You set red hand using the crown set to position 3 (all the way pulled out). Once the minute hand and red hand are the desired position, push the crown in one click (position 2) and adjust the hour hand.

If I’m not clear enough, all of this should be covered in EXPLORER booklet that came with the watch

Hope this helps.

Wondering the same thing, but I don't think the Hammer from the other place is more than a ONE watch guy.

I have always liked the orange hand, but the dial on the original does absolutely nothing for me. Too bad they didn't put the big orange hand on the 'new' dial.

Hope we answered your questions Hammer and you will become a contributor on this forum we like you have also asked people what is the significance of the extra hand or how do I change the date, or how come my date changes before or after 12 midnite. So, ask away and be the next to answer someone else's question :) Enjoy your watch it's a great one !
